Let me introduce myself ....

I met many students and parents at the 'Meet the Teacher' evening at the end of last year.  For those who were unable to attend, I'd like to briefly introduce myself.

I have recently graduated with my Bachelor of Teaching and Learning through the University of Canterbury.  During my training I had practices at the following schools - Ngongotaha Primary, Kaharoa School, Malfroy Primary, Selwyn Primary, Kawaha Point School and Rotorua Intermediate School (RIS). While at RIS I was fortunate to complete my practice under the guidance of  Karin Hopkins, Rutherford House Team Leaders.  This provided an excellent opportunity to embrace the philosophy of Rutherford House and upon completion of that section, I continued to relieve in Rutherford House and mainstream classes.  The fourth term of 2009  I was employed as a long term reliever for six weeks in Jackson House which is the digital team within RIS.

I have lived in Rotorua all my life and am married with two children aged 7 and 8 years.  They both attend Otonga Primary School.

I have very high expectations for all my students which include work ethics and behavioural expectations.

To ensure your child's education is successful there needs to be communication between home and school.  Therefore, please feel free to contact me at any time regarding any matters or email.  I often have meetings which commence at 3.20pm so it may be more convenient to email me.  My email address is carolynp@rotorua-intermediate.org.nz.

We have a busy term ahead.  I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Kind regards

Carolyn Pearson
